How to replace APEC ROES-50 filters

Turn off the cold water supply valve under the sink
Use the included wrench to unscrew the filter housing cap
Remove the old filter cartridge
Insert the new filter and reinstall the housing cap (hand tight, then 1/4 turn with wrench)
Turn the water back on and check for leaks
Flush for 10–15 minutes after replacing any filter

How to know when the RO membrane needs replacing

Use a TDS meter. ROES-50 output water should read 10–30 TDS from typical municipal water. When it starts creeping above 50, the membrane is losing effectiveness. APEC recommends replacing on a 2–3 year schedule as a baseline even if readings are still good.

Can I use third-party filters in the ROES-50?

Technically yes — the ROES-50 uses standard 10" × 2.5" filter housings compatible with many brands. However, using non-APEC filters may affect filtration performance and could void warranty coverage. APEC recommends their own replacement filters for certified performance.
