SANS is a modern countertop water purifier that combines UV sterilization with carbon filtration. AquaTru uses reverse osmosis. Both sit on your counter without installation, but they filter in fundamentally different ways.
AquaTru's reverse osmosis removes dissolved contaminants — fluoride, nitrates, heavy metals, PFAS — that SANS cannot touch. SANS's UV sterilization is highly effective against bacteria and viruses. If your concern is chemical contamination, choose AquaTru. If pathogen removal from well water or questionable sources is the priority, SANS has an edge there.
SANS filters using activated carbon (which removes chlorine, VOCs, and some heavy metals) and UV light (which destroys bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms by disrupting their DNA). It does not use a reverse osmosis membrane, which means it cannot remove dissolved ionic compounds like fluoride, nitrates, or arsenic.
AquaTru's RO membrane removes these dissolved compounds physically — the membrane pores are small enough to block them. AquaTru also has UV as an optional add-on in some models.
